Booking protect is a refund protection specialist that provides guests with the opportunity to add enhanced refund terms during the checkout process, which enables them to request a full refund should they, or anyone in their party, be unable to attend their stay due to unforeseen circumstances.

Unforeseen circumstances can include injury, accidents, pregnancy, transport failure, bad weather or other situations. The refund protection can cover all elements of a booking, including travel and accommodation.


Customers must make a refund request via Booking Protect’s refund portal. The Booking Protect in-house team handle the whole process so there are no unnecessary queues or waiting around. They strive to make refund protection as simple and easy as it should be, offering equal accessibility and fairness to all purchasers.

The fee is calculated as a percentage of the booking fee and is an optional purchase.


If guests want to add Booking Protect after they have completed their booking request, guests are able to add the Booking Protect up until the date the balance is due and can be done by the Lydstep team manually. If you amend your booking dates, the Booking Protect is not automatically updated and therefore request that you contact us to amend this for you manually.


Refund requests are handled directly by Booking Protect and not Lydstep Caravan & Lodge Hire Ltd.
